I have been at a running and busy pace since the start of this new school year. I am ready for a nice walking pace because all this running has me tired. (All my country folks know that I said that ‘tired’ as ‘tied’ LOL)
When ‘me’ time is shortened, expect ‘attitude’. With stress and tiredness, an attitude check is always needed for me! These words of mine that go through my head help to get me back on track and I hope that you enjoy reading them.
“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him.” -Matthew 12:35a
What is Attitude? It can be defined as a positive or negative evaluation of people, ideas, and everything else.
Your attitude & actions are driven by what you most deeply believe about yourself and the world.
Those of us with strong beliefs in our Lord and the study of His words are led by faith. Faith gives us the power to encounter negative people and situations without them leaving a negative impact on us.
The view that you have of yourself plays a large role in your attitude.
If you have a positive view of yourself and the world, your attitude is generally cheerful. You tend to see the positive side of situations and the good in others.
You alone control your attitude. It should not be focused on the actions of others …only on you and the choice you make to Be Happy Each Day. I know that all of us, even this Everyday Super Chick, let other people control our attitude from time-to-time. It happens. The thing is, we can’t allow others to always control our attitude or emotions in general.
I promised myself long ago that when someone irritates me, they will not get more than 5 minutes of my time. After 5 minutes, I’m done with the situation and moving on. If it’s a close family member or someone I care about, then the 5 minute rule may go out the door. You know that family has a way of being a different kind of challenging!
Choose to be happy with the blessings you receive each day instead of worrying about what you feel you have not received. If you focus on what you do not have, you will never be happy!
How’s your attitude? What decisions can you make right now to make sure your attitude is strong, positive, and matches your faith?
Here are some tips:
- Think Happy Thoughts
- Learn what makes you happy
- Visualize a happy & positive YOU
- Feed your Spirit with faith based positivity
- Stay motivated
- LOVE YOURSELF
And a final note: Don’t be afraid to let go of things that do not add value to your life!
